Dr. Biswas did his PhD in Economics from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
His doctoral thesis looked at the factors influencing the import and export activity of manufacturing firms of India. In this study, a special attention was given to the role of technology and R&D in India’s manufacturing firms.
His areas of interest are International trade, Economics of Innovation, Regional Development, Economic History, Development Economics.
